The app predicts water behavior. It shows tendency to scaling or to corrosion (sometimes both). Moreover, app predicts amount of acid or base needed to have an optimal saturation potential. The chemical theory, which is a base for the app, has some limitations. Here the short explanation. Saturation index as an idea is well known in water treatment industry. It is a way how to interpreter water analysis result. If we focus on, let say, common case – potable water with average properties we can predict water behavior. We used saturation index which is describes as pH – pHs Where: pH is the measured water pH pHs is the pH at saturation at calcium carbonate (Langelier Saturation Index (LSI)). The cycled calculation is used to determine an optimum pH for saturation index with approach that addition of base or acid changes alkalinity of the water. On site, sometimes, it is difficult to direct measure total dissolved solids, so approximation from conductivity is used.
