Publish your app

Publish your app to make it available to users on the RuStore.

  1. Open the RuStore Console.

  2. Click the "Applications" tab.

  3. Click "Add an app".

  4. Enter the app name in the pop-up window.

  5. Click "Add".

  6. Select the added app.

  7. Click "Upload a new version".

The download instructions will vary depending on the app type: "Universal" (suitable for phone, tablet, and TV platforms) or "TV Only". If “Universal” app type is selected , you'll also need to fill out information for the TV version. If your app is only suitable for TV, follow the instructions on the Add an app for a TV device page.

If a universal app has been created and versions for both mobile devices and TV have been downloaded, any subsequent versions must also be universal. If you need to add a new version that is suitable only for TV, create separate versions: universal + TV.

Upload app version​

RuStore supports downloading applications in APK and AAV formats.

APK file download requirements

Upload an APK file to your app:

  • An APK file should not exceed 2.5 GB;

  • Generate a signed APK file;

  • Use a unique package name;

  • The app package must be checked and adjusted.

When downloading the second and subsequent versions:

  • An APK file should not exceed 2.5 GB;

  • Generate a signed APK file;

  • The signature must match the previous one;

  • The app package must match the previous one;

  • The app package must be checked and adjusted;

  • The version code must be greater than the previous one.

AAB File Upload Requirements

  • Application signatures must be added separately before loading the .aab file.

  • An AAB file should not exceed 500 MB;

  • Use a unique package name;

  • the assembly must be tested and configured.

"What's new?​

Section "What's new?" filled in when downloading a new version of the application. Tell us here about the main updates, what features have appeared or what bugs have been fixed. When downloading the universal version of the application, you can also add a change history for the TV version.

User Data Safety​

Fill in information about the categories and types of data that the application is requesting access to, and provide information about sensitive permissions. Read more in the section How to declare permissions.

Application information​

  1. Enter the name of the application:

    • no more than 30 characters;
    • the application name must be unique.

  2. Select a category from the list provided. How to do it?

  3. Select an age limit from the list provided. How to choose the right age limit?

  4. Enter a brief description of the application for mobile devices and for the TV version (up to 80 characters).

  5. Enter a detailed description of the application (up to 4000 characters; when creating, you must take into account the user’s ability to minimize the description to 2000 characters).

Media files for the catalog​

Icon​

Drag an application icon from your desktop or a folder on your computer to the Mobile Icon area. You can also add a separate icon for the TV version of the application by clicking “Add icon for TV”.

If you leave this field empty, the icon for mobile devices will also be displayed for the TV version.

Upload app icon

  • The image resolution must be 512 x 512 px, the image must not exceed 3 MB;
  • Accepted image formats: .png or .jpg..

Upload app screenshots​

You can add screenshots for mobile phones only. In this case, the same screenshots will be displayed on both device types: phones and tablets.

Besides, you can upload additional screenshots for tablets. Then phone screenshots will be displayed on devices with screens smaller than 7 inches, and tablet screenshots will appear in the application page on devices with 7-inch screens or larger.

Please make sure that you have uploaded screenshots for the mobile app version.

If your app's APK or AAB file is suitable for TV, upload screenshots and a TV banner as well.

How to add screenshots

  1. Select vertical or horizontal orientation.

  2. Specify the device type: phone or tablet.

  3. Drag screenshots from your desktop or computer folder into the Phone App Screenshots area, or click Add Tablet Screenshots. If the APK version (AAB) is suitable for TV, please also add screenshots for the TV version of the application. Upload 1 to 10 screenshots at the same time.

The screenshots will be downloaded in the order in which they are located in the selected folder.

Image Requirements

  • The image size should not exceed 3 MB for phones and 5 MB for tablets;

  • Accepted image formats: .png or .jpg;

  • Maximum resolution — 2160х3840 px;

  • Recommended aspect ratio: 16:9;

  • If the width or height is less than the recommended one, the screenshot will be stretched to 16:9;

  • If the width or height is greater than the recommended one, the screenshot will be cropped to 16:9.

You can also add a link to a video hosted on VK Video. The video will be available in the application page for phones and tablets.

Video Requirements

  • it must be directly related to the application (for example, you can upload a trailer, gameplay recording, etc.);

  • the video must be public;

  • The video duration cannot exceed 1 minute;

  • You can only add one video.

Creating a draft version and sending it for moderation​

Click “Submit for moderation” if you have completely filled out the application version download form. Your app will be sent for moderation.

Before submitting your app for moderation, be sure to check the application for compliance with the App Review Guidelines.

Select "Save as Draft" to create a draft and come back to edit a version of the application later.

To work with drafts, the following conditions must be met:

  • creating, editing and deleting a draft is available for the account owner, release manager and developer roles;

  • you can create only 1 draft version of the application;

  • a draft in the RuStore Console can only be saved without an APK or AAB file. Delete the file from the form to save the version as a draft, or immediately submit the application version for moderation.

Draft editing​

To continue filling out the application download form, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Applications" tab and select the "Versions" section.
  2. Click "Edit" next to your draft to go to the application upload form.

If you need to delete a draft, go to the actions menu and select Delete.

Conditions for adding a developer​

To add a developer who will conduct operational activities with a specific application, the following conditions must be met:

  • the developer logged in to the RuStore Console;
  • the developer passed on the VK ID to the employee who downloaded the application (in digital format).
